Set in the calm surroundings of Bedri Rahmi Bay, Miori Göcek explores the connection between mythology, space, material, and memory. Located in a cove shaped by time and nature, it reflects traces of an ancient presence intertwined with the natural elements. Through rock, seaweed, and the rhythm of the shoreline, it investigates how mythological references can become part of the environment.
At the center of the concept is a figure named Miori, the goddess. Her name, meaning “a beautiful beginning,” represents a symbolic starting point where sea and land meet. Miori Göcek recalls forgotten prophecies and ancient beliefs through subtle movements of water and spatial elements. It aims to offer visitors a new way of interpreting and experiencing the space by connecting nature with layered narratives.
AWC Contemporary presents “Miori Art”, a poetic convergence of myth and material shaped by the elements of sea and fire. Featuring works by Jake Michael Singer, Mert Ege Köse, Carole Fuerman and Miguel Rodrigues, the exhibition explores form as ritual and matter as memory. Each piece, shaped through vibration and substance, gestures toward a world just beyond sight. In their sculptural language, fire and water shape metal, while light and shadow reflect the eternal tension between surface and depth. These works are more than objects. They are echoes of elemental energy still present within the sea.
At the center of this setting is Miori Göcek, now one of the newest destinations within the global Riva Destinations network. On June 1, 2025, the cove became home to Turkey’s first Riva Lounge. With this arrival, Göcek joins Venice, Monte Carlo, Paris, Jeddah and Mallorca as one of the most desired locations on the international map. Accessible only by sea, this oasis is surrounded by the elegance of the Aegean and the refined atmosphere of one of the Mediterranean’s most celebrated yachting harbors.
Situated among six diverse culinary experiences, the Riva Lounge reimagines the sunset aperitif as a defining ritual. The setting features polished mahogany, striped maple and stainless steel finishes, materials long associated with Riva yachts. Aquamarine cushions on Aquarama chairs mirror the surrounding sea, offering guests a moment of immersive refinement. For those seeking further exploration, the Dolceriva and the Riva 88 Folgore are available for private charter, inviting intimate voyages through nearby bays.
This convergence of art, landscape and design reflects the curatorial philosophy of AWC Contemporary. Headquartered in Dubai, AWC Contemporary is an international platform committed to presenting and supporting artistic practices that engage with cultural, spatial and critical narratives. Each exhibition is thoughtfully developed in response to its context, ensuring harmony between artistic vision and local environment.
The gallery maintains a strong focus on interdisciplinary practice, cultural dialogue and sustainable development. Through residencies, institutional partnerships and participation in global art fairs, AWC Contemporary fosters artistic exchange and long-term engagement. Its project-based curatorial model provides flexible frameworks in which contemporary art can evolve alongside shifting cultural landscapes.
At Miori Göcek, this curatorial vision finds its full expression. Where myth becomes material and where land meets light, a story unfolds. It is not only remembered. It is experienced.
